in addition to the C42/L42 Exam.
C42/L42 ROOFING EXAM INFORMATION
Closed book; 80 questions; 3 hour time limit; 70% required to pass. Testing fees: $63 for 1 exam, $120 for 2 exams. To schedule an exam, contact Thomson Prometric at (800) 899-4089
The C42/L42 Exam allows applicants to apply for the following licenses:
C-42 ROOFING (RESIDENTIAL)
This license allows the installation and repair of materials common to the industry that form a watertight, weather resistant surface for roofs and decks, including all accessories, flashing, valleys, gravel stops, and roof insulation panels above the roof deck. This scope includes all C-42R subclassifications: C-42R Foam & foam Panel Roofing, C-42R Liquid Applied Roofing, and C-42R Roofing Shingles & Shakes.
L-42 ROOFING (COMMERCIAL)
This license allows the installation and repair of materials common to the industry that form a watertight, weather resistant surface for roofs and decks. Included is sheet metal when installed in conjunction with a roofing project, application of protective and reflective roof and deck coatings, application of dampproofing or waterproofing, and installation of roof insulation panels and other roof insulation systems above roof deck.
K-42 ROOFING (DUAL)
This classificatin allows the scope of work permitted by the Commercial L42 Roofing and the Residential C-42 Roofing licenses.
EXAMINATION SUBJECT AREAS:
Steep Roofing, Surface Preparation and Planning, Low-Slope Roofing, Roofing Components, Safety and Employee Protection, Plans, Specification and Estimating.
