American Contractors carries all the approved reference materials for the Illinois Roofing Contractor exam.

Illinois Roofing information:

Contractors must obtain a license from the Department of Professional Regulation before engaging in roofing construction. Illinois requires professional licensure of Roofing Contractors by the Illinois Roofing Industry Licensing Act. The examinations have been developed to reflect specific standards and practices supported by the roofing industry.

The time limit for the Illinois Residential Roofing Exam (Limited license) is 90 minutes. Thetime limit for the Illinois Residential, Commercial & Industrial Roofing exam (Unlimited license)is 2.5 hours. The Commercial & Industrial Roofing exam form is only available for candidates who already hold the Residential (Limited) license and wish to qualify for the Unlimited License.

Applicants must provide a $10,000 surety bond and proof of liability insurance in the amount of $250,000 for each occurrence of property damage and $500,000 for each occurrence of personal injury or bodily harm. Workers’ compensation and unemployment insurance is also required if the applicant has employees. The application fee is $125. The bi-annual renewal fee is $125.
