We offer many of the recommended study materials for the Louisiana Municipal and Public Works Construction License examination.
The following book is listed as a recommended reference to prepare for the exam. However, the book is out of print and is no longer available. You may be able to find the book at your local public library. The book is: Concrete Construction and Estimating Craig Avery Craftsman Book Co., Inc. (ISBN# 0-910460-75-2)

Confirm This Is the Right License for Your Work
Every state licensing board defines the exact project types, sizes, and trades that fall under each contractor classification. Review the scope below to make sure this license matches the work you actually do — then enroll in the seminar that prepares you for that exam the first time.
The classification of Municipal and Public Works Construction includes the work of the following sub-classifications: Filter plants and water purification; pipe work (gas lines); pipe work (sewer); pipe work (storm drains); pipe work (water lines); power plants; sewer plants or sewer disposal; underground electrical conduit installation; landscaping, grading and beautification and fencing.
License Requirements
An application form must be submitted to the board before testing.
There are no specific experience requirements in Louisiana.
Completion of the Louisiana Business Law course is required for licensure
A financial statement showing a net worth of at least $50,000 (within 12 months of filing date) prepared by a CPA, Accountant or Bookkeeper, for those wishing to perform work on a construction undertaking where the entire cost of the project is $50,000.00 or more.
Reciprocity
Louisiana does have reciprocity on a case by case basis, for most major classifications that have been licensed in another state for at least 3 years. You must contact the Board for more specific information.

Louisiana states that if an individual holds a license in any other state for a classification that required a trade exam to be passed, LA will accept that exam for reciprocity for whatever classification LSLBC deems to be equivalent.
Continuing Education
There are no Continuing Education requirements at this time.The Exam
The examination is made up of 80 multiple-choice questions which are equally weighted. You will have four hours to complete this examination. This is a closed-book exam. You will be provided with a calculator and pencils for use during the examination.How We Help You Prepare
American Contractors currently does not offer a seminar to prepare for the Louisiana Municipal and Public Works Construction Contractor.
