This license allows for the construction or remodeling of buildings or structures for the support, shelter and enclosure of persons, animals, chattels or movable property of any kind. A person who exclusively constructs or repairs mobile homes, manufactured homes or commercial coaches is not a general building contractor. A general building contractor may not perform plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, air-conditioning or fire protection without the appropriate specialty license.

NEVADA (CONTRACTOR) BUSINESS MANAGEMENT SURVEY EXAM

This is not a license by itself. It is however required by all types of contractors. The State has created a trade exam for most licenses. When a trade exam is available, applicants must take both the trade exam and the Management Survey Exam. When there is no trade exam, the Management Survey exam is the only exam required in order to obtain that license. Each individual license’s information page will explain which tests are required.

NASCLA Commercial General Building Contractor

The NASCLA Accredited Commercial General Building Contractor Exam eliminates the trade examination only for the participating state agencies. Once you have passed an exam within the NASCLA Accredited Examination Program, contractors will still have to meet additional state licensure requirements within each participating state to obtain their license, as well as passing the state specific Business Law exam.

Nevada Refrigeration Contractor (C-21A)

This license allows the construction, erection and installation of devices, machinery and units for the control of air temperatures below 50 degrees (F) in refrigerators, refrigerated rooms and insulated spaces, and installation of any related insulation, ducts, blowers, registers, controls over humidity and thermostatic controls, lines for supplying natural gas from the unit to the point of connection in the existing line for natural gas at the meter or at any point thereafter, electrical service from the unit’s device to protect against excessive current to the main electrical panel, but not the installation of other gas or electric services for the devices, machinery or units.

Nevada Drilling Wells (C-23)

The board will grant to qualified applicants a license in the specialty of drilling wells and installing pumps, pressure tanks and storage tanks considered integral to water wells. The board designates such a license as a clarification C-23 license.  A person who holds a classification C-23 license may install and repair water wells, pressure tanks, storage tanks and pumps by boring, drilling, excavating, casing, cementing, dewatering and cleaning to provide a supply of uncontaminated water.
