The Arkansas Master Plumber allows for Unlimited plumbing work, including water, sewer, and natural gas installation and repair.
License Requirements
- The first step in the Licensing process is to submit a completed application to the State Plumbing Board for Pre-Approval. Upon approval you will receive a letter stating that you may take the exam.
- Applicants must have at least 5 years of experience or have held an Arkansas Journeyman license for at least one year.
- There are no minimum financial requirements for this license at this time.
- A Master Plumber who wants to bid a job larger than $20,000 must become a i>Plumbing Contractor./i> This requires contacting the Arkansas Contractors Licensing Board to make application and pass the Business and Law Exam.
- The state does not require a Master Plumber to purchase a bond. However, many of the cities do require bonds.
Reciprocity
The state of Arkansas does not have any reciprocity agreements for this license at this time. Reciprocity will be considered on an individual basis.Continuing Education
There is no continuing education required for the Arkansas Master Plumber license at this time.The Exam
The Arkansas Plumbing Board gives the exam once per month.
It is an open-book, time test with 50 questions and a 4-hour time limit.
The exam is divided into four sections: Drawings, Multiple-Choice Questions, Appliance Venting, and Gas Pipe Sizing.
