Every state licensing board defines the exact project types, sizes, and trades that fall under each contractor classification. Review the scope below to make sure this license matches the work you actually do — then enroll in the seminar that prepares you for that exam the first time.

The holder of this license may perform only work limited to the installation, repair, replacement, maintenance or alteration of any warm air, air conditioning and refrigeration system, including necessary piping for the conveyance of heating or cooling media and associated pumping equipment. This license does not include the installation or servicing of oil burners of any size.

License Requirements

The requirements to quallify for this license examination shall be two-years as a properly licensed journeyperson or equivalent experience and training.

Continuing Education

Currently, no Continuing Education requirements exist for this license.

The Exam

The test, administered by PSI Exams, it consists of 70 questions, multiple choice with 3-hours to complete. A minimum passing score of 70% is required. The examination is OPEN BOOK.
