Louisiana states that if an individual holds a license in any other state for a classification that required a trade exam to be passed, Louisiana will accept that exam for reciprocity for whatever classification LSLBC deems to be equivalent.

Effective August 5, 2025, all trade examinations will transition to PSI Services LLC (PSI).

Exam fee is $140.00 per exam. The Louisiana HVAC/R exam is open-book, 50 multiple choice questions,requires 70% to pass and has a 2-hour time limit.

Exam Content: Electrical Knowledge, Motors & Controls, Piping, Refrigeration, Hydronic, Steam & Process, Heating & Cooling Principles, Theory & Equipment, Refrigerants, Fuel & LP Gas, Load Calculations, Combustion Air, Chimneys, Flues & Vents, Ducts & Exhaust.

American Contractors does not currently offer a seminar for the Louisiana HVAC/R Contractor. We do carry the references for this open-book test, which are required. Please contact us for more information.
