Every state licensing board defines the exact project types, sizes, and trades that fall under each contractor classification. Review the scope below to make sure this license matches the work you actually do — then enroll in the seminar that prepares you for that exam the first time.
In addition to the trade-specific examination you must either pass the Business and Law offered by PSI or take an "approved" Business and Law Course.

You must pass the Business and Law examination and the Trade examination within 1 year. Scores are void after 1 year.

Currently, there is no reciprocity for this license.Continuing Education
Continuing Education is not currently required.The Exam
This exam is 50 questions, open-book with a 2-hour time limit. Individuals must score 75% to pass.

This exam is required for most classifications of Contractor license in New Mexico.

American Contractors does not offer a seminar for the New Mexico Business Law exam. We do however have a Practice Test CD that familiarizes students with the NASCLA Business and Project Management books with sample tests and answers.
