Every state licensing board defines the exact project types, sizes, and trades that fall under each contractor classification. Review the scope below to make sure this license matches the work you actually do — then enroll in the seminar that prepares you for that exam the first time.
This license cannot stand-alone; it must be combined with a electrical contractor's license of some type.
All Electrical Trade Contractors are required by the state to pass this exam in addition to their trade exam in order to obtain a license.
License Requirements
The first step in the licensing process is to submit an application to the Electrical Contractors Licensing Board documenting your experience and financial information. Once approved, you may take the necessary exams.
The South Carolina Commercial Business and Law exam as well as the trade exams is required to be passed to obtain your contractors license.
Reciprocity
South Carolina currently has no reciprocity agreements for this license.
Continuing Education
