Oklahoma Contractor Licenses (OK)
  • Plumbing, Electrical and Mechanical Construction is regulated by licensure at the State level.
  • Plumbing, Electrical and Mechanical Contractors are required to maintain a $50,000 commercial general liability insurance policy

  • Oklahoma Electrical Business and Law

  • This is not a license that can stand-alone. It is REQUIRED by the STATE that individuals who are taking the Electrical Contractor Exam must also take this exam in order to obtain that license.
  • Oklahoma Mechanical Business and Law (PP)

  • This is not a license that can stand-alone. It is required by the state that individuals who are taking a Mechanical Contractor Exam must also take this exam in order to obtain that license.

  • Oklahoma Mechanical Business Law (HVAC/SM)

  • This is not a license that can stand-alone. It is required by the state that individuals who are taking a Mechanical Contractor Exam must also take this exam in order to obtain that license.

  • Oklahoma Plumbing Business and Law

  • This is not a license that can stand-alone. It is required by the state that individuals who are taking the Plumbing Contractor Exam must also take this exam in order to obtain that license.


  • Oklahoma Limited Electrical Contractor w/ Business Law

  • The Limited Electrical Contractor is prohibited from doing any hands-on electrical work. This license allows the holder to work as a manager doing electrical project planning, estimating, etc. Licensed limited contractors are prohibited from doing any of the work of a Journeyman or Apprentice.  Applicants must take the Electrical Business and Law Exam in addition to the Limited Electrical Contractor Exam in order to obtain this license.

  • Oklahoma Refinery Electrical Journeyman

  • Refinery electrical licenses are limited to wiring inside Refinery facilities that are defined as facilities designed and operated to receive, unload, store, process and refine raw crude oil. This license applies to out-of-state electrical workers in Oklahoma Refineries.

  • Oklahoma Residential Electrical Contractor w/ Business Law

  • This license allows work in the design, plan, layout, installation, repair and alteration of electrical conductors, fixtures, appliances, apparatus, raceways, conduit and related equipment and fixtures that use electrical energy for light, heat, power, data and communications as it applies to one-, two-, or three-family residences.  Applicants must take the Electrical Business and Law Exam in addition to the Residential Electrical Contractor Exam in order to obtain this license.

  • Oklahoma Residential Electrical Journeyman

  • This license allows work in the installation, repair and alteration of electrical conductors, fixtures, appliances, apparatus, raceways, conduit and related equipment and fixtures that use electrical energy for light, heat, power, data and communications as it applies to one-, two-, or three-family residences in a supervised environment. A Journeyman must be employed by a licensed electrical contractor.
  • Oklahoma Unlimited Electrical Contractor w/ Business Law

  • This license allows work in the design, plan, layout, installation, repair and alteration of electrical conductors, fixtures, appliances, apparatus, raceways, conduit and related equipment and fixtures that use electrical energy for light, heat, power, data and communications. The contractor is allowed to bid, advertise and contract. Applicants must take the Electrical Business and Law Exam in addition to the Unlimited Electrical Contractor Exam in order to obtain this license.

  • Oklahoma Unlimited Electrical Journeyman

  • A Journeyman must be employed by an Electrical Contractor and may not contract. This license allows the design, plan, layout, installation, repair and alteration of electrical conductors, fixtures, appliances, apparatus, raceways, conduit and related equipment and fixtures that use electrical energy for light, heat, power, data and communications in a supervised environment.



  • Oklahoma HVACR Journeyman Limited

  • This exam tests a candidate’s knowledge of the installation, maintenance, repair, fabrication, alteration or extension of air conditioning, refrigeration, heating, and ventilation, including ductwork, within a complete system limited to twenty-five tons cooling and five-hundred thousand BTU heating, and related appurtenances, apparatus, piping vessels, ducts and insulation while employed and supervised by a refrigeration contractor.
  • Oklahoma HVACR Journeyman Unlimited

  • This exam tests a candidate's knowledge of the installation, maintenance, repair, fabrication, alteration or extension of air conditioning, refrigeration, heating, and ventilation, including ductwork, within a complete system unlimited in horsepower or tons, and related appurtenances, apparatus, piping vessels, ducts and insulation while under the supervision and in the employ of a HVACR Contractor.

  • Oklahoma HVACR Limited Contractor

  • This exam tests a candidate’s knowledge of the installation, maintenance, repair, fabrication, alteration or extension of air conditioning, refrigeration, heating, and ventilation, including ductwork, within a complete system limited to twenty-five tons cooling and five-hundred thousand BTU heating, and related appurtenances, apparatus, piping vessels, ducts and insulation.
  • Oklahoma HVACR Unlimited Contractor

  • This exam tests a candidate’s knowledge of the installation, maintenance, repair, fabrication, alteration or extension of air conditioning, refrigeration, heating, and ventilation, including ductwork, within a complete system unlimited in horsepower or tons, and related appurtenances, apparatus, piping vessels, ducts and insulation.
  • Oklahoma Limited Residential Mechanical Journeyman

  • This license covers the installation, maintenance, repair, fabrication, alteration, and extension of air conditioning, heating, and ventilation, including ductwork with a complete residential system. It also covers residential hook-ups for clothes dryers, range hoods, and related appurtenances.

  • Oklahoma Plumbing Contractor with Gas

  • Installation, repair and maintenance or extension of any plumbing system, including sanitary drainage waste and vents, water supply, plumbing fixtures and roof drains and also install, maintain, or repair gas piping, appliances, vents, flues, tanks and other related appurtenances in a supervised environment.

  • Oklahoma Plumbing Journeyman with Gas

    Installation, repair and maintenance or extension of any plumbing system, including sanitary drainage waste and vents, water supply, plumbing fixtures and roof drains and also install, maintain, or repair gas piping, appliances, vents, flues, tanks and other related appurtenances in a supervised environment. The Journeyman must be employee of a Plumbing Contractor. A Journeyman may not contract.



  • Oklahoma Natural Gas Contractor

  • This license allows for work in the installation, repair, alteration, or extension of gas piping and gas mains. It includes all natural gas piping within or adjacent to any building, structure, or conveyance, on the premises and to the connection with a natural gas meter, regulator or other supply source.  All Mechanical Contractors are required to take the Mechanical Business and Law Exam in addition to the contractor’s exam in order to obtain this license.
